    SMP can last a lifetime with proper care, like wearing sunscreen or a hat in the sun. Over time the pigment may gradually lighten, usually after about 2 to 4 years, and a quick touch-up brings it right back. Your first touch-up within the year is included in your treatment.

  • Does scalp micropigmentation look real?

  • Can I still shave or grow my hair after SMP?

    Yes. Many clients keep a clean-shaven or buzzed look for the sharpest, most defined result. If you have thinning hair, SMP can be done underneath your existing hair to add the look of density while you keep your length. After the initial healing period, you can shave, cut, and style as usual. We'll talk through the look you want at your consultation.

  • Will anyone be able to tell I had SMP?

    Our goal is to make sure no one can tell. We match pigment to your natural hair color and skin tone and layer tiny impressions to mimic real follicles, so friends and coworkers simply notice you look refreshed and confident, never "tattooed." Every appointment is private and discreet.

  • Is scalp micropigmentation the same as a hair tattoo?

    SMP is often called a hair tattoo, but it's a very different technique. Traditional tattoo ink and needles go deeper into the skin and can spread or turn blue over time. Scalp micropigmentation uses specialized pigments and much finer, shallower impressions to mimic individual hair follicles, so the result looks like natural, closely cropped hair rather than a tattoo.

  • Does scalp micropigmentation work for women?

    Yes. For women, SMP is usually done between existing hair to soften a widening part or thinning on top, so hair looks fuller without shaving anything.
